Cooper Abstracts Electric and Manual Wheelchair Vibration Analysis
Whole-Body Vibration Study
Summary:
Wheelchair users are at risk of injuries due to whole-body vibrations, especially when traveling over uneven surfaces. This study found that surfaces like interlocking concrete and poured concrete produce the highest vibration levels. Recommendations include the use of paver designs with bevels under 6mm to improve safety and comfort.
